"Breaking the Silence"
Our Thoughts
We have been involved with the special education system for almost two years. When we began, we did not have help from anyone, nor did we have any idea what to expect.

We have been amazed by how much we have needed to learn simply to get our child those educational services he needs to access the curriculum and succeed in school.

Perhaps you were under the impression that after receiving the diagnosis that your child had special needs, things could only get better. Unfortunately, if it is your desire to be diligent in obtaining necessary educational services for your child, things will only get more difficult.

We hope the following information pages will be helpful to you as you navigate through the twists and turns of the special education system. More importantly, we hope that the realization that you are not alone will not only provide some comfort, but will also provide some motivation to speak out publicly for the good of all of our children.

We want to remind you that we are not giving you legal or advocacy advice. We are simply sharing what we have learned over the past several years, based only on our personal experiences in obtaining services for our child.
